Slide'n'Sound-Group on Marriage and AdoptionIt was a very small, but very productive group. At the beginning we were comparing a marriage and adoption situation in our countries (Slovenija, Croatia, Slovakia & Netherland)! The states are not recognizing that`s important to have that kind of legal protectionfor homosexual people, except Netherland where it is completly legal. Also, a partnership (common living of homo people) isn`t recognized by the law in this countries. (SLO, CRO, Slovakia)!
We also had a discussion about pro & contra arguments for adoption and marriage. MarriagePro: Love isn`t limited by gender, people has the right to choose a partner and live with him/her, being in a marriage gives you a legal protection of your rights and nobody should be excluded from that. Contra: Marriage is a holly institution, itīs not normal, it`s evil (usually arguments from catholic church), itīs not a good example. AdoptionPro: A child needs love, parents a very well prepared and homo marriages don`t produce homo children. Contra: A child needs 1 father and 1 mother - like a role model in his/her`s socialization! It`s against nature... And at the end we produces a Photo-Story about that topic! All the patricipants of the seminar were included and the story also talks about marriage of homo and hetero and how unhappy that can be! The story also have several endings - like in Cuba - The homo will be in a prison, in Netherland they will be live completly happy, in other european countries they would have to hide (Croatia, Slovakia)! Till some progressive new laws about this subject, we will continue our fight.
