Queer organisation

  • COC (they are the owners of serveral discos and bars in the Netherlands and they give information about being a queer or dyke
  • The Dutch government is always very supportive to gay people
  • At the moment it is almost normal to be gay. In Amsterdam itīs a little bit of a hype
  • JS Jouge Socialisten in de PvdA
  • Within the JS itīs not important to know if someone is a dyke or queer
  • The chairman of the JS department Amsterdam and Groningen are queer

Party Life in Amsterdam

  • Monday : Soho, April, Havanna - all of them open 7 days a week
  • Tuesday: Lellebel, a transvestite bar, open 7 days a week
  • Wednesday: B.P.M., D.O.K. - both cool discos
  • Thursday: EXIT, nice disco, a lot of ABBA and lots of photos of Beatrix
  • Friday: C.O.C., cool disco, slightly alternative
  • Saturday: IT, EXIT
  • Sunday: De Trut, absolutely only for queer and dykes, very alternative, there is no Sunday the same
  • A place to go in Amsterdam is the condom shop in Warmoestraat
