There are, of course numerous queer clubs, bars and cafés where gays and lesbians can meet. It´s no surprise that public responses towards the queer-rights-movement and the acceptance of this way of life depends on whether you live in one of the major cities or in the country.

The highlight of the queer movement are the Christopher-Street-Day- Parades (esp. in Cologne) when the queer community becomes more visible than usual in all its diversity.
